Who is God?

Exodus 7-9: God is in control. He hardens the heart of Pharaoh.  God is more powerful than the ways of this world. God leads Moses through all of his time with Pharaoh. God can cause great miracles to happen.  God can lead the heart of man…but we are ultimately responsible for our own choices.
Psalm 26: God is the vindicator.  God is our redeemer. God is our grace giver.
Acts 16:16-40:  (v.25) God is worthy of praise no matter what situation we are in.  Jesus is our savior.  Salvation comes only through believing in Him.
Matt 11:20-30:  Jesus is judge.  Jesus prays.  Jesus cares for those who aren’t wise.  Jesus is gentle and lowly in heart to the weary and heavy laden.  Jesus’ ways are easy and he doesn’t heap burdens upon us.

How do I enjoy Him?

Life in Christ isn’t hard.  He comes to give us rest and lighten the burden that we put on ourselves (or that religious people put on us).  He has come to say that we don’t have to earn His love and salvation.  We just have to believe in the work that has been done for us.  He calls us to follow Him.  This isn’t something that we do in our own strength but through His.  He calls. He empowers. He guides.  Life with Christ is easy as long as we believe in Him.

My goal for today is to believe in Jesus the same way I believed in Him for my salvation at first.  I will believe, just as I did on the first day, that He is able to wash away my sins.  I will believe that it was finished on the cross.  I will believe that He is my strength and He will guide me.
